Create Your Own...

Red Letter Day

I have been feeling kind of blue lately and was determined to have a good day! So I looked into my closet and realized that I have a lot of red clothes. What better way to boost your mood by wearing red? It gives you the confidence to take your day by the balls and do what needs to get done while feeling great.

I really love my red blazer. I have worn it about 4 times now and have styled it differently ever time. I am a sucker for structured pieces and I could not say no to it. I found it for about $24 on the sale rack at Von Maur! A great places for good deals.

Now I have had, and have worn this dress many many times. How could I not? Its perfect. This striped tank dress has saved me many times when I just didn't know what to wear over the summer. I thought I would spruce it up with a lace Peter Pan collared top.

I wear the same shoes I do every day so I figured you wouldn't mind not seeing them for once.

Sweater Time!

I'm not much into bulky sweaters because I don't really like the way that they look on me, but when I came across this one I couldn't refuse. The gold thread sold me. I could easily pair almost any piece of jewelry I own with it! With that being said, I chose my simplest piece, my gold watch from Walmart. I found it a few years ago and fell in love with it. I get compliments on it all the time which is why I love saying where I got it. The look on peoples faces is always priceless. Haha, yupp. I got it for $7.

The Candies line at Kohl's has had some good pieces the last few years, but I never found anything like these jeans. They are so great to me because they are not just black or brown, but have both colors of yarn. And the zipper detail at the bottom is pretty rockin' too. Oh yeah, they're really comfy too.

My combat boots have taken quite a beating within the last year. I got them last fall on ThreadScence and have worn the heel down dramatically. I still love them and plan to wear them just as much!

My adorable gold bow earrings.

During my daily pinning routine I came across this gorgeous dress. I have no idea where it originally came from but its beautiful and I would wear it in a heartbeat.

Well hello everyone! Welcome to my secret garden!

Actually its not mine and its not so secret. BUT this little smokers den is a great place to take pictures and unwind. After our VAMO (Visual and Apparel Merchandising Organization) meeting a few of us E-board members went outside to goof around and contribute to mine and Elana's blogs. They're great pals.

 Something was funny!

I suppose that I should mention that I am a vegetarian. I have been for the past 5 1/2 years! Becoming aware of all the animal cruelty out there really opened my eyes and made me feel differently about eating meat. And no I don't miss it. I was never big on the thought of eating a living things flesh. Just kinda weirded me out ya know? Anyway, that is another reason I love this skirt so much. Pleather please!

Thanks all! I hope you enjoyed my new take on the skirt! Come visit again soon!

So uhh, yeah. This is what starting a blog is like...

Let me start off by telling you that my name is Justine, I am a Fashion Merchandising student at Western Illinois University and I am a junior. This is just something that I am going to put together in my spare time to share my love of fashion, opinions and the other stuff.  I hope that as the semester goes on I can put more time into it and grow to know all of my followers. But enough about the life story I want to get into the good stuff.

*Even though its fashion week I am going to avoid talking about it a whole lots seeing as though I am just starting out.

Pretty In Pink

I am quite the girly girl I must say. I love sequins, glitter, shiny things and of course pink. It makes any girl feel confident and pretty. These pointed toed pumps from shoedazzle.com are so comfy and perfect for a night out with the girls! They have a medium heel and an adorably thin ankle strap.
